The Ministry of Educcation and Cultural Affairs is responsible for the areas of education and science, as well as culture and the new media.
As the supreme school supervision authority, it regulates the structuring of a modern and high-performing education system, from which no type of school is excluded. In addition, the regulation of research and science as a source of innovation and regional development is considered a high priority.
The Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs is responsible for the following areas:
- General and overlaping issues
- Policy issues affecting every type of school
- Issues relating to particular types of school, school supervision
- Sciences, colleges and research
The central bureau for the documentation of lost cultural property, which acts on behalf of all federal states, is also assigned to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
